I finally went in there tonight! I was all by my lonesome which was unfortunate because I would have loved to gush over the menu with someone. It’s truly amazing. It was very difficult for me to make a decision! Everything sounded so good and everything is reasonably priced.
I started with a really yummy piece of buttered white bread – it tasted homemade. For my drink , I had the black currant tea which came in a cute little tea pot. As for entree, I chose something on the Euro side of the menu. The braised chicken with sautéed dumplings (spaetzle) caught my eye. It was a good choice, too! The chicken was simply sumptuous! The spaetzle was perfect, I could have eaten a whole plate of it!
I didn’t eat all of my chicken on purpose, though. I wanted dessert. So I got the chocolate macaroon fudge cake. It hit the spot!
Now I can’t wait to go back again. I don’t think it could accommodate a McFoodie meetup, unfortunately. It’s perfect for an intimate party of 2 or a small group. I know I’ll be back again soon — with the ‘hubby’ in tow. 🙂
I was going to ask where it was, but it seems it’s on Monmouth Street. I’ll have to check it out next time I’m in Red Bank. 🙂
It’s across from the Count Basie Theater. I am definitely going back soon. It’s really tiny in there, so if you go on a weekend night, it’s probably best to call ahead.
Warning… despite enjoying a very good meal on my first visit, I’ve since had far too many horrible experiences at the Eurasian to ever consider going back there. Bad service and obviously microwaved entrees top the list. The worst – and final – experience was a pork chop that was frozen in some spots and dried out and and crunchy in other spots. It was downright inedible and what was worse, the server didn’t seem phased or even offer to replace the food or take the charge off the bill. Hope you have better luck there. I still have fond memories of the first meal there, but just can’t forgive those pitiful chops.
