Guest Bloggers Wanted!

I have decided that instead of letting this blog just sit stagnant, I would still like to see some things posted here. I would like to see Red Bank Blues continue to be a source of information about all things Red Bank. So I’m extending an invitation to readers or writers of Red Bank to write for this blog. If you’re interested, get in touch! I’ll set you up with an account here and we’ll take it from there.

Seriously folks, if you’re looking for a top notch sushi experience, run, don’t walk, to Kanji Steakhouse and Sushi. It’s up there with our other favorite Monmouth County Japanese restaurant, Ichiban in Ocean.

We returned on Sunday evening with his parents and grandmother. They are not big fans of Japanese food. They like hibachi just fine, but are not into sushi AT ALL.

We had our usual sashimi appetizer & avocado salad. We also ordered 3 different rolls a piece. We always share. It’s always too much, but we like to try a variety.

One of the rolls was a plain old California roll. His Dad, who has never tried any sushi in his life — not even a California roll — tried one and said “Hey, that’s pretty good!” He thoroughly enjoyed his Shumai appetizer and raved about the Shrimp Tempura (cooked) roll. Trust me, this was a big step!

We both wanted an order of Sunshine rolls, since it was the winner on our first trip. However, this time the White Christmas roll won as best special roll. It was simply divine!!! I hope they continue to offer that in the future.

We will back again and again!

Shootings, stabbings, robberies, assaults…. what’s going on Red Bank? That’s the kind of shit I got desensitized to hearing about when I lived in Philly. Never expected to see it ’round these trendy parts.

The banter (comments) over at Red Bank Green is so funny. People pointin’ fingers at the local politicians, not enough this, not enough that, yada yada. I could rant about the state of society today, but things aren’t going to get better. It comes from the top down, peeps.

If you want change, don’t just move out of Red Bank. Move out of the country! *sigh*

I know I haven’t been posting here much at all lately, but I wanted to wish this blog a very happy (belated) birthday!  I created this blog just over a year ago to voice my disenchantment over living in an overpriced dump in Red Bank.  Obviously much has changed.  I no longer live in Red Bank.  I actually like the walls that surround me. 🙂

At some point in the past year, this blog has become more than just my springboard for ranting.  It has been a mini-resource for all things Red Bank.  I plan to continue to post relevant-to-Red Bank info here when I hear of anything news-worthy.  If you have any tips you like to share, by all means send them my way!

Thank you to all who have visited and continue to read and use this blog for information about Red Bank.

Happy holidays!

According to the Asbury Park Press, around 7 a.m. today, a train struck and killed someone who was on the track on the railroad bridge over the Navesink River between Red Bank and Middletown.

As of 10 a.m., NJ Transit crews and EMTS have removed the body from the bridge. The accident had caused delays on the North Jersey Coast line, but normal train service has resumed.
